Don't Mom Alone Customer Reviews
:- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Lisa Appelo -- Heather is the wise and honest mom friend everyone needs! : Heather MacFadyen is the mom friend every mother wishes she had. Not because Heather knows or has experienced everything. But because she comes alongside, with equal doses of humility, grace, fun and wisdom. With candid been-there stories, Heather breaks down walls of pretense or expertise and instead vulnerably shares what God has taught and is teaching. For years, Heather has paid attention not only to her four sons, but to how to parent them. She shares the best of her in-the-trenches practical and spiritual help, along with lots of gems from years of guests on her popular podcast Don’t Mom Alone. - 5.0 out of 5 stars from RedSoxLo -- A book we all need right now! : Heather is an incredible story-teller and encourager. And if you’ve listening to her podcast, then you know she always has something good and true to say about the journey of motherhood. This book adds weight to her words. Don’t Mom Alone is for all the moms - the new mommas, the seasoned mommas, the stay-at-home mommas, the work full-time (or part-time) mommas. This book will make you want to snuggle your kids a little tighter. It will remind you that your children’s behavior is a reflection of them, not you! It will encourage you to connect – or reconnect - with your spouse. It will open your eyes to the struggles of other young mothers around the world. It will comfort your heart after loss. It will remind you of your desperate need for Jesus in every hour of momming. Heather is a great connector - she encourages moms to not do this mom-life alone. I loved this book and know there are moms out there doing the momming-alone. I encourage you to buy this book for them. Buy this for your mom friends. For the new mom. For the stuck mom. For the mom that needs a good laugh (or cry!). ( Reviewed in the United States on October 12, 2021 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from J Savage -- Encouraging, Relatable, Empowering Motherhood Book : This book is a breath of fresh air AND a whole toolbox all in one. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 18, 2021 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Joyce M. -- A Call to Community : Heather's book Don't Mom Alone is a long time coming. She has been a champion of moms in all stages. And her call-to-action is not to mom alone. It is a season of life that is full of all the things. Whether things are good or not, we need each other. We need other moms who have been there to come alongside us to let us know we're going to make it. We need other moms who are a little behind us to let them know they're going to make it. "Making it" through the season (which can be a looong season) may look different for us but in each chapter of her book, Heather shares an Isolating Idea and a Connecting Truth that will encourage moms to find their community of other mamas as we not just survive these years but to thrive. - 5.0 out of 5 stars from Naomi D’Antonio -- Rooted in Truth! : Heather's approach to being a mom is such a lovely extension of her walk with Christ. Rather than posturing with empty platitudes, Heather's wisdom and encouragement comes directly from rooting herself in the source of all truth. You will be moved to live as the mom God made you to be, yielding to Him so that you can walk in the fullness of His grace and love. Trust me, you want to be a part of this community! - 5.0 out of 5 stars from Eric Holmstrom -- The book EVERY mama needs right now! : My eyes were welling up in tears in the first few pages of this book. This book is like a handbook to guide you through the hard parts of parenting and help you find strength in friendships and in remembering that God is with you every moment. Heather sprinkles so much encouragement and grace throughout the book. I love in the preface when she reminds us that just as kids are learning to become adults, we are learning to become moms. We need patience and grace for ourselves so we can be up for the task ahead of raising them! Each chapter includes an isolating idea (or a lie we are believing) and then a connecting truth. Each of these chapters ends with thought-provoking questions that you can do with a group, with your spouse, or own your own. She writes with humility, vulnerability, expertise, and so much compassion for mamas out there that may feel alone. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 13, 2021 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from M. Lybrand -- What moms need! : I’ve loved listening to Heather’s podcast for years! Just like the podcast, this book is filled with wisdom to help moms in all stages through the highs and lows of “momming”. Ive often felt lonely an isolated, despite a house filled with love and lots of people. This book is a gracious reminder of how we are never alone in the presence of God. Bits of wisdom, prayers, and scriptures through this awesome book are filled with hope for this hopeful, yet sometimes weary, mom. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 12, 2021 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Kellie -- A book for all moms!!!! : for me, reminding me that I am not alone. This is a book for all moms!!!!! ( Reviewed in Germany on October 19, 2021 )
